Terms of Use
Legendary MP3, operated by Legendarily Imperfect, LLC. Effective and last updated 27 September 2026.
1. Accepting These Terms
Using Legendary MP3 means you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use the app.
2. What The App Is
Legendary MP3 is a music player for files that are already on your Android device. It plays them, organizes them, repairs their tags against a public database, and measures things about the audio. It does not stream, sell, download or share music, and it has no account.
3. Your Music Is Yours
The app reads and, when you ask it to, writes the files on your device. You are responsible for having the right to use those files. We make no copies of them and have no access to them.
Tag repairs and cover art are written into your files only when you confirm them. The app keeps the previous tags so a change can be undone from Library Health, and Android asks for your permission on each write. Even so, tags are data inside your files: keep a backup of a library you care about, as you would with any tool that edits it.
4. Where The Data Comes From
Tag suggestions come from MusicBrainz, and cover art from the Cover Art Archive, both run by the MetaBrainz Foundation. MusicBrainz data is released under the CC0 license, and cover images carry the licenses of whoever uploaded them. Suggestions can be wrong, which is why the app shows you every proposed change before writing it. We do not own that data and cannot correct it at source; MusicBrainz accepts edits from anyone.
5. The Legendary Unlock
Free: the whole player. Playback, your full library, playlists, queues, the equalizer, visualizers, crossfade, scrobbling, folders, lyrics, the widget, a limited trial of tag repair, and all three styles.
Legendary, a one-time purchase of $4.99: unlimited tag repair, automatic cover art, the parametric equalizer with per-device profiles, multiple queues, and smart playlists.
- Sold through Google Play, which bills you and handles refunds under its own policy. We cannot process refunds ourselves.
- It is one charge. It does not renew.
- Restore it on a new phone from the same Google account with "Restore purchase" on the Legendary screen.
- The price shown in your store is set by Google from our US price.
6. Scrobbling
If you sign in to Last.fm or ListenBrainz, the app sends your plays to that service on your behalf. Your relationship with that service, and what it does with your listening history, is governed by its own terms. Sign out in Settings to stop.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to reverse engineer or decompile the app, resell or redistribute it, or use it to run automated requests against MusicBrainz, Last.fm or any other service it talks to. Those services rate-limit for a reason, and abuse through this app gets it blocked for everyone.
8. Intellectual Property
Legendary MP3, its name, icon and interface are ours. Your music is yours. MusicBrainz data and cover art belong to their contributors under the licenses above.
9. No Warranty
The app is provided as is. We work hard on it and test it on real libraries, but we do not promise it is free of bugs, that a tag suggestion is right, or that a measurement is exact. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss of data or any indirect loss arising from its use. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law gives you and does not let you waive.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and a change that matters is mentioned in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
